Seminoles Continue Fall Ball against Blazers

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State baseball team hosted UAB on Saturday afternoon at Dick Howser Stadium for a 12.5-inning exhibition game.
The Seminoles and Blazers matched up for both team's second contest of the Fall Ball season.
Sophomore first baseman Myles Bailey homered as part of a three-hit, two-RBI day with two runs scored and a walk. Fellow sophomore left fielder Noah Sheffield had a two-RBI double with the bases loaded and scored a run in a seven-run inning for FSU. The Seminoles scored three or more runs in three different innings.
Redshirt senior third baseman Eli Putnam had three hits, two RBI and a run scored on the day, while junior center fielder Brayden Dowd, freshman left fielder Kelvyn Paulino Jr. and freshman center fielder John Stautzer both had two hits and drove in two runs. Paulino Jr. added a run scored.
On the mound, junior right-hander John Abraham and redshirt junior lefty Kevin Mebil each pitched 2.0 scoreless innings with three strikeouts. Abraham held UAB hitless. Junior left-hander Trey Beard, freshman righty Manny Lantigua and redshirt freshman Rhett Vaughn also posted scoreless outings against the Blazers.
Florida State will conclude the fall with the Garnet & Gold All-Star Game Presented by GEICO on Friday, October 31 at 6:30 p.m. ET. A Home Run Derby will conclude the night at Dick Howser Stadium. Tickets are available now at Seminoles.com/Tickets.
