TALLAHASSEE - Florida State volleyball star Iane Henke was drafted by the 2024 MLV Champion Orlando Valkyries on Monday afternoon in the Major League Volleyball Draft. Henke was drafted with the eighth pick in the third round and the 24th overall pick in the draft.

The senior from Ulm, Germany, has put together one of the top seasons in school history for the Garnet and Gold. In 88 sets this season, Henke has tallied 390 kills and 4.43 kills per set. Her 4.43 kills per set ranks fourth in the ACC and 25th in the entire country. Henke is on pace to break the school record for kills per set in the rally scoring era and currently sits third all time in school history for kills per set in a single season. Henke also ranks fourth in the ACC and 15th in the country with 5.10 points per set. Her 5.10 points per set currently sits second all-time in school history and is just .09 points per set away from breaking the school record. Henke has been the rock offensively for the Seminoles this season as she has recorded double-digit kills in 21 consecutive matches, including 15 or more kills in 19 of those matches.

Henke has also turned in some of the top individual performances in school history this season. In the season opener against UIC, Henke tallied seven service aces which was tied for the fourth-most in school history and the third-most of any player in the country this season during a three-set match. Henke recorded 20 or more kills in four consecutive matches against Clemson, Georgia Tech, Cal and Virginia. Henke is the first player in program history to have 20 or more kills in four consecutive matches in the rally scoring era. Against Georgia Tech on Sept. 28, Henke recorded 21 kills in three sets. Henke is one of two players in the ACC to have more than 20 kills in a three-set match this season. On October 18, Henke recorded a career-high 27 kills in her first match back from injury. Henke recorded 30.5 points which was the most by a Seminole since Payton Caffrey in 2018. In the four matches against North Florida, USF, South Carolina and Oklahoma, Henke tallied 15 or more kills in all four of those matches while hitting over .300 in all those matches. Henke is the first FSU player since Norisha Campbell in 2001 to accomplish that feat.

Henke now becomes the third FSU player to play in the Major League Volleyball league. She joins Taylor Head and Khori Louis who are members of the Atlanta Vibe. Louis was named the MLV Rookie of the Year last season while Head played in 26 matches for the Vibe.

The Valkyries season begins on January 9 in Orlando. The Valkyries play their home matches at Additional Financial Arena. Tickets and more information can be found at https://provolleyball.com/teams/orlando-valkyries.
