Kubek Leads with 16 points vs. Notre Dame

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State women's basketball team (4-7, 0-1 ACC) fell to the No. 18/19 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (6-2, 1-0 ACC) 93-58 on Sunday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Center.
Florida State had three players scoring in double digits, led by graduate forward Allie Kubek who contributed 16. Junior guard Emma Risch also added 12 points while junior center Pania Davis added 10.
Risch led the team in rebounds with six, contributing four assists and a block as well. Kubek also added three rebounds and an assist.
Florida State battled through an early first quarter deficit against the Irish before finding their rhythm with three three-pointers to get on the board. FSU trailed Notre Dame, 25-11 at the end of the first.
The Seminoles brought the heat back in the second quarter, putting together a 12-0 scoring run of their own, pulling within two, 29-27. The Irish responded and headed into halftime with a 41–27 advantage.
Kubek scored 11 of her 16 points in the second half, but Notre Dame controlled the game, 93-58.
The Seminoles will host the College of Charleston on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. The game will air on ACC Network Extra.
