Berger Finishes Second at Waste Management Open

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State junior Luke Clanton alongside two former Noles, Vincent Norrman and Daniel Berger, competed in the Waste Management Phoenix Open February 6-9 at TPC Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona. 
 
Berger, who competed in his fourth PGA event of 2025, tied for second 17-under par.  It was his first top five finish of the season and 25th of his career.
 
Berger opened the tournament shooting 68 before posting back-to-back rounds of 66, sitting at 13-under headed into the final round.  He finished with a round of 4-under 67, to tie for second place.
 
Norrman finished the tournament tying for 71st finishing 1-over par. Norrman saw his best round on Friday, shooting 67 to go into the clubhouse at 4-under par, making his 29th-career cut.
 
Clanton competed in his third PGA event of the year, shooting 67 on Friday. Clanton birdied four holes on the back nine, finishing at 1-under after two rounds.
 
Clanton remains ranked No.1 in the World Golf Amateur Ranking and has 19 PGA TOUR University Accelerated points, one away from qualifying for his PGA TOUR card.
 
The Seminoles will start the spring season at the Watersound Invitational from Feb. 17-19 at the Sharks Tooth Golf Course in Panama City, Florida.
