Noles Complete Perfect Weekend With Wins Over FGCU, Southern Miss

Against FGCU, the Seminoles swept the Eagles on all five courts. Kenzie Hultquist and McKenna Flaherty got the scoring started on Court 5 with a 26-24, 21-16 win, followed by Makenna Wolfe and Maddie Trusty on Court 4 with a 21-18, 21-13 win. The Noles clinched the match on Court 1 when Alexis Durish and Audrey Koenig closed out a dominant 21-16, 21-14 win.
Gella Andrew and Myriah Massey won on Court 2, 21-18, 21-14 before Bailey Higgins and Carra Cassack closed out the Eagles on Court 3 with a 29-27, 21-14 win.
In the second match of the day, FSU won the first four sets against Southern Miss to win 4-1. Hultquist and Madison Binkley started the scoring with a 21-16, 21-11 win before Wolfe and Jordan Boulware earned a three-set win, 18-21, 21-16, 15-9.
Andrew and Trusty clinched the Seminole win with a 21-9, 21-9 win on Court 3 before Druish and Koenig made the score 4-0 on Court 1, 21-12, 21-13.
Southern Miss avoided the sweep with a 22-20, 23-21 win on Court 2.
Florida State is back home Friday for the Seminole Beach Bash. FSU opens the day at 9:00 a.m. against Georgia State and plays CSU Bakersfield at 12:00 p.m.
