Gilchrist, Muzito, Quirie Receive ACC Postgraduate Scholarship Recognition

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Florida State had three athletes selected as recipients of the ACC Postgraduate Scholarship Recognition as announced by the Atlantic Coast Conference on Wednesday afternoon. Heather Gilchrist of women's soccer and David Quirie of men's swimming and diving were named Weaver-James-Corrigan-Swofford Award recipients. Gloria Muzito of women's swimming and diving was named to the ACC Excellence Award list.

Gilchrist, from Boulder, Colorado, is a national champion and three-time ACC Tournament champion on the Florida State soccer team. Gilchrist has anchored the Seminole defense in all three seasons of play and has helped keep 35 shutouts in 59 appearances for the garnet and gold. The defender was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team and All-ACC Third Team in 2024 while earning All-ACC Freshman Team honors in 2022. She has been named to every ACC All-Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll throughout her three years at Florida State, and graduated this past fall with a bachelors degree in Finance. 

Muzito, from Sundsvalls, Sweden, is an NCAA qualifier and a captain of Florida State's swimming and diving team as well as a 2024 Olympian, national record holder and national champion for Uganda. Muzito owns school records in the 400 freestyle relay and the 200 and 400 medley relays, and she has the third-fastest 100 freestyle time in program history. She has been named to the ACC All-Academic Team and ACC Academic Honor Roll throughout her four years at Florida State, and will graduate this spring with a bachelors degree in Sport Management. 
 
Quirie, from Ontario, Canada, is an NCAA qualifier and a two-time captain of the Florida State swimming and diving team. He holds the Morcom Aquatics Center record in the 1,650 freestyle, and has top-five fastest times in FSU history in the 200, 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyles. Quirie has been named to the All-ACC Academic Team and the CSCAA Scholar All-America teams several times in his undergraduate career at Florida State and will graduate with a masters in Chemical Engineering.
