TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State baseball junior shortstop Alex Lodise has been named the ACC Player and ACC Defensive Player of the Year after a regular season that puts him among the most elite players in the country.

Lodise is the 10th player in program history to be named ACC Player of the Year and the first to earn ACC Defensive Player of the Year honors. He is the second player in ACC history, and first since 2018, to earn both Player and Defensive Player of the Year distinctions. A semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and the Dick Howser Trophy, Lodise also headlines a list of seven Seminoles named to All-ACC Teams, FSU's most since 2019 and tied for second-most ever.

Lodise, junior left-handed starter Jamie Arnold and junior second baseman Drew Faurot were named First Team All-ACC. Junior center fielder Max Williams and redshirt junior left-handed starter Joey Volini were bestowed with Second Team All-ACC honors and junior right fielder Gage Harrelson earned Third Team All-ACC accolades. Freshman first baseman Myles Bailey was recognized on the All-Freshman Team.

The Seminoles collected multiple ACC yearly honors for the third time, along with three in 2021 and two in 2007. Lodise is the second to earn multiple awards in the same year, joining Parker Messick, the 2021 Pitcher and Freshman of the Year.

For the second time in team history and first since 2007-08, FSU has earned ACC Player of the Year accolades in consecutive years, after James Tibbs III was honored in 2024. Lodise and Tibbs join Tony Thomas Jr. (2007) and Buster Posey (2008) as the back-to-back duos in team history.

Lodise and his six All-ACC teammates have played key roles in leading Florida State to a runner-up finish in the ACC and a 37-13 record in the regular season. As the 2024 ACC Baseball Championship begins on Tuesday, FSU is the No. 2 seed and secured a double bye in the single-elimination, 16-team event. The Seminoles will open play in the quarterfinal on Friday, May 23, at 3 p.m. ET, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina.

Lodise ranks No. 4 in the NCAA in hits per game (1.74), No. 6 in batting average (.422), No. 11 in total bases (159) and hits (87) and No. 14 in slugging percentage (.772). He also is second in the ACC in RBI (63) and RBI per game (1.26), third in home runs (17) and home runs per game (0.34), fifth in on-base percentage (.483) and sixth in doubles per game (.34). Lodise has 17 doubles, two triples, 57 runs scored and 22 walks to go along with six stolen bases in six attempts.

A St. Augustine, Florida, native, Lodise earns All-ACC year-end honors for the first time in his career. He was named a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy last week. Earlier this season, Lodise was recognized as the Midseason National Player of the Year by Baseball America and Perfect Game, the Midseason Top Player by D1Baseball and a Midseason First Team All-American by D1Baseball and Perfect Game. The National and ACC Player of the Week on March 31, he was named to the Brooks Wallace Award Player of the Year Watch List by the College Baseball Foundation.

A First Team All-ACC awardee for the second consecutive season, Arnold also is a Golden Spikes and Dick Howser semifinalist in 2025. He was named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List and the College Baseball Foundation National Pitcher of the Year Award Watch List. Arnold was named a Midseason Second Team All-American by Perfect Game and earned numerous Preseason National Pitcher of the Year and First Team All-America honors. He collected ACC Pitcher of the Week accolades on April 14.
