Payton Whalen Signs With FSU Volleyball

TALLAHASSEE - Head volleyball coach Chris Poole announced the signing of Payton Whalen on Wednesday afternoon.
Whalen is from Peoria, Arizona, and played her high school volleyball at Centennial High School. Whalen was a four-year captain for Centennial and helped them to the 5A State Tournament the last three seasons. The 6-1 outside and opposite hitter has tallied over 1,500 kills for Centennial. Whalen was named a First Team 5A Northwest All-Region selection in all four years of her high school career. Off the court, Whalen was an AP Scholar and an AP Capstone candidate. Whalen plans on majoring in exercise physiology at Florida State.
Whalen is the daughter of Jen and Kevin Whalen. Her cousin, Jayden Nabor, is an All-American swimmer at the University of Arizona.
