TALLAHASSEE – Florida State's Corey Craig was named the 2025 ITA National Most Improved Player as announced by the ITA on Friday morning.
Craig joined the Seminoles after two successful seasons at Boston University. He was named to the Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 2023 before achieving an incredible 26-1 singles record in the spring of 2024. He was named the Patriot League Player of the Week on seven different occasions before being named the 2024 Patriot League Player of the Year and Patriot League Tournament MVP.
The Coconut Creek native made an immediate impact in his first season in Tallahassee. He entered the ITA All-American Championships as a wild card entry and won five straight matches to reach the quarterfinals, knocking off four-ranked players in his incredible run. He repeated the same feat at the NCAA Singles championship to become an ITA All-American in his first semester while defeating the No. 11 player in the nation.
Craig carried that momentum into 2025 as he became the top player on the squad in singles on Court 1 for the reigning ACC champions. Craig earned a spot on the All-ACC Singles First Team following a 19-7 season with 11 ranked wins and four top-25 wins. He was unbeaten at home in conference play and was ranked as high as the No. 9 collegiate player in the nation.
The rising senior enters 2025-26 as one of the top returning players in collegiate tennis and will headline the new squad featuring three new transfers.
