Three Noles Set for 125th U.S. Amateur Championship

TALLAHASSEE–Florida State men's golf team members Jack Bigham, Carson Brewer and Tyler Weaver will compete at the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship at the Olympic Club in San Fransico, starting on Monday.
Among the 312 athletes in the field, Brewer is one of 15 who qualified from Florida, while Weaver and Bigham are two of the seven hailing from England.
Weaver is one of 14 golfers who played at the 125th U.S. Open earlier this summer, where he finished fourth among amateurs.
As the 11th-ranked amateur in the world, Weaver will start round one on Monday from the first hole at the Lake Course at 11:44 a.m. On Tuesday, Weaver will begin round two on the Ocean Course at 4:39 p.m. off the 10th hole.
Bigham last competed in the Farm foods Scottish Challenge, marking the first pro event of his career. Bigham heads into the U.S. Amateur after competing in the European and English Amateur Championships this summer.
Ranked 59th in the World Golf Amateur Rankings, Bigham will start Monday at 11:55 a.m. on the Ocean Course on No. 10. On Tuesday, Bigham will go at 5:30 p.m. from the first hole of the Lake Course.
Brewer earned his spot by finishing tied for third in the one-round qualifier at Sara Bay Country Club on July 21 after shooting 3-under, 69. He also competed at The Western Amateur, Southern Amateur and North & South Amateur events this summer.
Brewer will tee off on Monday at 3:35 p.m. from the first hole at the Lake Course. He will start Tuesday' round at 10 a.m. off No. 10 at the Ocean Course.
The top 64 players from stroke play will move on to match play, beginning on Wednesday. Coverage will be on Wednesday on Peacock and the Golf Channel.
