TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State women's tennis team will open its 2026 spring season by hosting USF at noon on Saturday at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.

FSU will seek its 16th consecutive victory in a season opener, along with its 10th straight win in a home opener. The Seminoles are 36-22 all-time against the Bulls and earned a 4-0 win in Tampa last season.

As a team, FSU won 23 singles matches in the fall. Junior, Eva Shaw, qualified for the NCAA Singles Championship in Orlando, advancing to the Round of 32.

Florida State returns seven players from last season who accounted for 59 singles victories in 2025.

The Seminoles have three players nationally ranked in the ITA singles poll heading into the spring season. Senior Millie Bissett enters 2026 ranked No. 44, followed by Shaw at No. 94 and junior Laura Putz at No. 96.

Abby Kelliher, Jovana Grujic, and Lauren Anderson will be competing in their first collegiate spring season. Kelliher earned four victories in the fall, two in singles and two in doubles. Anderson and Grujic will look to make their Seminole debuts this spring.

Head coach Jennifer Hyde enters her 22nd season with the Seminoles and 26th overall. Associate head coach Mark Ardizzone will begin his seventh year with FSU, and assistant coach Vito Tonejc is in his first year with the program.

Admission is free to all Florida State home tennis matches. Live stats and video can be found on seminoles.com.
