Three Noles Contribute Double Figures Against Georgia Tech on Sunday

1/25/2026 6:54:00 PM | Women's Basketball

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State women's basketball team (7-14, 2-7 ACC) fell to Georgia Tech (9-12, 4-5 ACC) by a final score of 80-69 on Sunday afternoon at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Three Seminoles scored in double figures, with junior guard Sole Williams leading the effort with 18. She would also earn six rebounds, tying her career high, and three assists. Junior center Pania Davis was just shy of a double-double with 15 points and a team-high nine boards. Davis would also tie her career high with three blocks and a steal. Senior guard Amaya Bonner would round out the trio with 14 points, leading the team with four assists.

As a team, Florida State put together eight blocks as well as seven steals to force 13 total turnovers from Georgia Tech.

Williams and graduate guard Jasmine Shavers powered the first quarter scoring with mid-range jumpers while Davis added her second three-pointer of the season just over three minutes in. Sophomore guard Tatum Greene and junior guard Emma Risch would sink their own from beyond the arc nearly a minute apart to keep the lead alive with under four minutes to go. Three blocks from Davis and one from junior forward Avery Treadwell helped Florida State sustain a 21-19 edge after the first 10 minutes.

Georgia Tech would answer early in the second quarter to strip the lead. The Seminoles would manage 14 points, led by Bonner's six. FSU's first pair of free throws courtesy of the senior guard would cut into the deficit as Florida State trailed 44-35 at halftime.

Bonner led the first half scoring with eight points to go with three assists. Williams pulled down a team-high five rebounds while Davis tallied three blocks and seven points.

The Seminoles came out of the locker room strong, putting together a 6-2 run in the first three minutes while the defense forced four turnovers from the Yellow Jackets in the first five minutes. Williams went a perfect 4-of-4 at the free-throw line to break into double digits and cap off the third quarter, FSU trailing 60-52.

Williams surged with a three followed by a contested layup in the first minute alone to bring the game within three points, but the Yellow Jackets responded with multiple trips to the foul line, stringing together a 12-0 run.

Williams found the hoop again from deep while Davis drove the lane on back-to-back possessions with 2:39 to go. However, FSU fell 80-69.

Florida State women's basketball will travel north for a meeting with Clemson on Sunday, Feb. 1 at Littlejohn Coliseum. The game will air at 4 p.m. on the ACC Network.
