Volleyball Signs Maile Chan and Emma Lilo

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State volleyball announced the pickup of two key transfers in 5-3 libero Maile Chan and 5-9 setter Emma Lilo on Monday afternoon.Â

Chan, a native of Portland, Oregon, comes to Florida State after playing two seasons for Wisconsin. The defensive specialist appeared in 21 sets for the Badgers across her sophomore campaign, recording five digs as well as her first career service ace.Â

In high school, Chan was named the No.1 libero and No. 6 overall player in the state of Oregon. She played for FC Barca Volleyball out of Barcelona, Spain, a professional team in the 1st Liga. She was a first-place champion with her club team Athena Volleyball in the 2023 USAV Girls' 17 and Under Division, where she also received All-Tournament Team honors.

Lilo, who hails from Kailua, Hawaii, joins the Seminoles after spending two seasons with Oregon State. She played in 78 sets for the Beavers during her sophomore season, where she tallied six kills, 394 assists and 16 service aces. She would earn five double-doubles for assists and digs through the 2025 season. Lilo led her team with 718 total assists in her freshman year, the seventh most in Oregon State program history by a freshman in a single season. She was also second on the team with 31 service aces in the same year.Â

A team captain for Kamehameha High School, Lilo led her team to a 2023 state championship where she received All-Tournament Team honors as well as All-State honors. She was listed at No. 2 in the state of Hawaii's top-15 rankings, Hawaii's Fab 15.
