MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Florida State football team (3-4, 1-3 ACC) fell 43-35 in double overtime to No. 3 Miami (6-0, 4-0 ACC) Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium.
Fifth Year quarterback Ashton Daniels completed 15 of 28 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns, tying his career high. Daniels also rushed for 31 yards and one touchdown. His 11th rushing touchdown of the season ties the most by an FSU player through the first seven games of a season since 1995.
Senior wide receiver Duce Robinson recorded his second 100-yard receiving performance of the season, finishing with five catches for 113 yards and two touchdowns, tying his career high. His seventh career 100-yard receiving game moves him into a tie for ninth in program history.
Senior running back Quintrevion Wisner finished the game with a season-high 63 rushing yards on nine attempts. Wisner also added a season-high four catches for 56 yards and one touchdown
Fifth Year defensive back Ashlynd Barker led the Seminoles with 13 tackles, adding two pass breakups and one interception.
Florida State answered Miami's first quarter touchdown with a seven-play, 53-yard drive to tie the game at 7-7 with 13:52 remaining in the second quarter. On its 47-yard line, a 10-yard scramble by Daniels on third-and-eight moved the Seminoles past midfield. Daniels later connected with Wisner for an 11-yard gain on third down before a Miami facemask penalty added 15 yards. From the Miami 23-yard line, Daniels found senior tight end Desirrio Riles for a 23-yard touchdown, his first of the season.
The Seminoles responded to another Miami score late in the first half, tying the game at 14-14 with 1:40 remaining. After the FSU defense forced a three-and-out, two Miami personal fouls helped Florida State begin its possession at the Hurricanes' 15-yard line. Two carries by sophomore running back Ousmane Kromah moved the Seminoles to the two-yard line before Daniels powered into the end zone.
Florida State carried that momentum into the second half. On Miami's opening possession, Barker intercepted Hurricanes quarterback Darian Mensah in the end zone, recording his second interception of the season and handing Mensah his first interception of the year.
The FSU defense followed with another stop, turning Miami over on downs and holding the Hurricanes scoreless on four consecutive possessions.
Starting at its own 42-yard line, Florida State needed just four plays to take its first lead of the night. Daniels connected with sophomore wide receiver Jayvan Boggs for a 26-yard gain before finding Wisner for a 28-yard touchdown reception. The score gave the Seminoles a 21-14 advantage with 4:09 remaining in the third quarter.
Miami scored two fourth quarter touchdowns to take a 28-21 lead.
Florida State responded on a one play, a 75-yard throw and catch from Daniels to Robinson, his longest catch of the season, to tie the game 28-28 and send it into overtime.
Daniels and Robinson connected again in the first overtime, with Robinson hauling in a touchdown in the back of the end zone to give Florida State a 35-28 lead. Miami answered with a touchdown of its own to force a second overtime.
In the second overtime, Miami scored and converted a two-point attempt. The Seminoles were unable to answer, falling 43-35.
Florida State enters its second bye week of the 2026 season before returning home to host Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Doak Campbell Stadium.
