TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State football team (3-5, 1-4 ACC) fell to Clemson (5-3, 3-2 ACC) 36-24 Saturday evening at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Junior wide receiver Micahi Danzy led Florida State with 108 receiving yards on four receptions and one touchdown. Danzy eclipsed 1,000 career receiving yards and totaled 145 all-purpose yards in the game.

Fifth Year quarterback Ashton Daniels completed 21 of 33 passes for 350 yards and two touchdowns. It marked his fifth game this season with multiple passing touchdowns and his second with at least 350 passing yards. Daniels also added 21 rushing yards and one touchdown. His 12 rushing touchdowns tie Cam Akers (2019) for the most by a Seminole in the first eight games of a season since 1995.

Freshman wide receiver Jasen Lopez recorded career highs with 52 receiving yards and four receptions. He also hauled in his first career touchdown reception.

Senior running back Quintrevion Wisner led the Seminoles on the ground with 43 yards on 13 carries. He also added 50 receiving yards on five catches.

Junior defensive back CJ Richard Jr. led the Seminole defense with a career-high 13 tackles, marking his second game this season with at least 12 tackles. Junior linebacker Chris Jones added a season-high 10 tackles. Fifth Year linebacker Omar Graham Jr. recorded five tackles, bringing his season total to 40 and surpassing his previous career high of 38 set in 2025.

Clemson opened the scoring on its second drive, taking a 7-0 lead with 10:13 remaining in the first quarter.

Junior defensive lineman Jalen Anderson halted the Tigers' third drive with his third sack of the season. The Seminoles needed just two plays to respond, tying the game at 7-7 with 7:08 remaining in the opening quarter. Starting from their own 33-yard line, Daniels connected with a streaking Danzy for a 46-yard touchdown, Danzy's third receiving score of the season.

Clemson reached the red zone on its fourth drive but settled for a field goal after two more Seminole sacks. On first-and-10 from the FSU 11-yard line, sophomore defensive lineman Darryll Desir recorded his first sack of the season for an eight-yard loss. On third-and-14, fifth year linebacker Mikai Gbayor added his third sack of the season to force the field goal. Clemson converted the attempt to take a 10-7 lead after the first quarter.

Florida State answered with a field goal to even the score at 10-10. The 10-play, 43-yard drive featured a 28-yard completion from Daniels to senior wide receiver Duce Robinson to move the Seminoles past midfield. Fifth Year kicker Gabe Panikowski connected on a 35-yard field goal, extending his streak to 23 consecutive made field goals dating back to 2023.

The Seminole defense again held Clemson to a field goal, with the Tigers adding three points with 7:21 remaining in the first half.

Clemson scored a touchdown and added another field goal as time expired in the second quarter to take a 23-10 lead into halftime.

The Tigers extended their lead with another field goal eight minutes into the third quarter, making it 26-10. Clemson added its fifth field goal of the game in the fourth quarter to push the lead to 29-10.

With 8:52 remaining, Daniels found the end zone on a 13-yard rushing touchdown to cap a five-play, 75-yard drive. The drive was sparked by another big connection with Danzy, this time for 52 yards down to the Clemson 13-yard line. Daniels then connected with senior tight end Desirrio Riles on the two-point conversion to cut the deficit to 29-18.

A Clemson three-and-out gave the Seminoles another opportunity, and Florida State capitalized with a touchdown on its next possession. Needing just three plays to cover 54 yards, Daniels found Lopez for a career-long 41-yard touchdown reception. The Seminoles were unable to convert the two-point attempt, leaving Clemson with a 29-24 lead and 5:30 remaining.

Clemson responded with a late fourth-quarter touchdown to extend its lead to 36-24 and secure the victory.

Florida State will travel to Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, next Saturday to face Boston College. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. on ACC Network.
