The Seminoles take on the Tigers at 1 pm ET inside the Tucker Center

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State plays its final exhibition game on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the Seminoles host the LSU Tigers inside the Donald L. Tucker Center.

The matchup will be televised on ACC Network Extra, accessible through ESPN+, with Sean Salisbury and Jacob Ridenhour on the call. The game will also air on the Seminole Sports Network with Jeff Culhane and Adrian Crawford calling the action.

The Seminoles are coming off an 82-71 victory over the Auburn Tigers in the 2026 Ballin in Boutwell preseason event in Birmingham, Alabama. Trailing by eight with 15 minutes to go in the second half, Florida State outscored Auburn 44-25 the rest of the contest.

Florida State attacked the paint constantly, and its aggressiveness showed with the Noles getting to the free throw line. They ended up going 34-of-40 from the charity stripe for an 85.0 percent clip.

Marcis Ponder stole the show versus the Tigers, registering a double-double with 13 points and 21 rebounds to go along with three blocks. The freshman center put up this stat line in just 25 minutes of action.

Kam Taylor was another bright spot for Florida State, scoring a team-high 19 points. The junior guard went 4-for-8 from the field and a perfect 10-of-10 from the foul line.

Florida State received some great news this past Monday as it was announced that forward Alex Steen is now eligible to participate in competition for the Seminoles following a temporary injunction. Steen started in 29 games last season for Florida State, averaging 6.8 points and a team-high 5.8 rebounds per contest.

Florida State was recently picked seventh in the 2026-27 ACC preseason poll, as voted on by a select media panel. The Seminoles were picked 15th last season before finishing tying for seventh after going 10-8. This is the highest FSU has been picked preseason since 2022.

LSU, led by Will Wade who begins his second stint as head coach, enters the weekend having played two exhibition games, both of which went down to the wire and resulted in victories for the Tigers. In a home contest versus UCF, LSU defeated UCF 85-81. Prior to that, the Tigers prevailed 63-60 at McNeese State.

In the four-point win over UCF, the Tigers played only six players. That will most certainly change on Saturday as LSU has recently had a handful of players declared eligible for the 2026-27 season.

Florida State trails in the all-time series against LSU, 4-3. This will be the first matchup between the two programs since 2024 when they faced off in Baton Rouge as part of the SEC/ACC Challenge. The Tigers won that game, 85-75.
