LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Florida State football team (3-3, 1-2 ACC) fell to Louisville (3-3, 2-2 ACC) 44-20 Friday evening at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium.

Fifth Year quarterback Ashton Daniels completed 21 of 37 passes for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He added 45 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground. Daniels' 10th rushing touchdown of the season set the FSU single-season record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback. He became the first Seminole to record at least 10 rushing touchdowns in a season since Trey Benson in 2023.

Sophomore running back Ousmane Kromah led the Seminoles with 88 rushing yards on 19 carries. He also caught four passes for 43 yards, tying his career high in receiving yards. Kromah became just the second Seminole since Warrick Dunn in 1995 to rush for at least 80 yards in the first six games of a season.

Junior wide receiver Micahi Danzy led the Seminoles in receiving for the second consecutive game, recording four catches for 50 yards and a career-high-tying two touchdown receptions.

Junior linebacker Chris Jones and junior defensive back CJ Richard Jr. tied for the team lead with seven tackles each.

Florida State opened the game with a 14-play, 75-yard drive capped by a seven-yard touchdown run from Daniels to take a 7-0 lead. The Seminoles established the run early, carrying the ball on 11 of the drive's 14 plays.

The Florida State defense responded on Louisville's opening possession, stopping the Cardinals on fourth-and-one. Following a sack by senior defensive lineman Rylan Kennedy, Louisville faced a third-and-long situation but picked up 14 yards. The Cardinals attempted to run up the middle on fourth down, but Jones made the stop to give Florida State possession at its own 45-yard line.

The Seminoles capitalized on their next possession, covering 55 yards in eight plays. On third-and-eight, Daniels scrambled to extend the play before finding Kromah along the sideline for a first down. Facing fourth-and-four later in the drive, Daniels connected with Danzy for a seven-yard gain to move the chains. On the very next play, Danzy hauled in a one-handed catch for a 25-yard touchdown to extend Florida State's lead to 14-0 after the first quarter.

Florida State moved the ball to the Louisville two-yard line on its next possession but came away without points for the first time this season after reaching the red zone. Louisville responded with a 97-yard rushing touchdown to cut the Seminoles' lead to 14-7 with 9:16 remaining in the first half.

The Cardinals scored again before halftime to even the game at 14-14 heading into the break.

Louisville scored the first three touchdowns of the second half to take a 35-14 lead.

With 8:30 left to play, Florida State scored on a 10-play, 79-yard drive to cut the deficit to 35-20. The Seminoles recorded three plays of at least 15 yards during the possession, beginning with a 22-yard reception by sophomore wide receiver Jayvan Boggs on fourth-and-seven to extend the drive. Daniels then connected with Kromah for 17 yards before finding junior tight end Landen Thomas for a 22-yard gain to move Florida State inside the red zone. Daniels capped the drive with a two-yard touchdown pass to Danzy, marking the second touchdown connection between the pair in the game.

The Cardinals added another touchdown and one field goal for a final score of 44-20.

Florida State remains on the road next week to face No. 4 Miami. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium on ESPN.
