ATLANTA – The No.13/NR Florida State swimming and diving team won another ACC title, earned a silver medal relay finish and set four school records on Friday, day six of the 2026 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
Friday's events included the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 400 medley relay.
Sophomore Logan Robinson headlined the night with his ACC championship in the 200 butterfly, just one day after taking silver in the 200 freestyle. His ACC-winning time broke his own school record in the process. Robinson was joined with a medal on Friday by the men's 400 medley relay, who took home a silver medal to close out the meet. Senior Sarah Evans, then sophomore Alice Velden, set school records in the 100 backstroke to join Robinson and the men's 400 medley relay with program-setting marks.
"Just a special, special night," FSU head coach Neal Studd said. "That's what awesome looks like. Logan Robinson was incredible as an ACC Champ with a school record, and then we saw the first two sub-52-second swims in program history in the 100 back from Alice and Sarah. The women's relay did great and then the men nearly won the whole thing. I couldn't be more proud of this team, and now we reset and get ready for a big day tomorrow."
Robinson was second in the 200 butterfly prelims with an NCAA-qualifying 1:40.98. He returned in the championship final and delivered a 1:38.73 to win the ACC title, shattering his own previous school record of 1:40.23. It was Robinson's first career ACC title and the team's second of the championship meet.
The men's 400 medley relay team of seniors Max Wilson and Tommaso Baravelli, sophomore Michel Arkhangelsky and Robinson combined for a school-record 3:01.08 to place second overall and win the silver medal. It was the third ACC medal of the week for Robinson and the second for Arkhangelsky, Baravelli and Wilson.
The 100 backstroke program record was broken twice Friday, first by Evans in prelims with a 52.06. The time earned her a spot in the B final, where she placed 13th overall and lowered her mark to 51.83. Competing in the C final, Velden posted a 51.48 to break the record set earlier in the day and place 17th overall.
Wilson advanced to the A final of the men's 100 backstroke with an NCAA-qualifying 45.47 in prelims and finished seventh overall in 44.99. Arkhangelsky also recorded an NCAA cut of 46.20 in prelims to advance to the C final.
Competing in his third 100 breaststroke final at the ACC Championships, Baravelli finished seventh overall in an NCAA-qualifying 52.15.
In the men's 200 butterfly, freshman Thomas Matheson posted a personal-best 1:43.92 in prelims to secure a spot in the C final and lowered his time again to 1:43.44 in the final, earning an NCAA cut. Sophomore Mathias Christensen also secured an NCAA mark in prelims at 1:43.66 and improved to 1:43.55 in finals, finishing 20th overall.
On the women's side, senior Mabry Bishop competed in the C final of the 200 butterfly after clocking a 1:59.82 in prelims.
Senior Julia Mansson led the women's 100 breaststroke with a 1:00.22 in the B final, earning an NCAA cut and finishing 13th overall. Sophomore Amelia Marek recorded a personal-best 1:00.86 in prelims before touching in 1:00.39 in the C final.
The women's quartet of Velden, Mansson, senior Sophie Freeman and sophomore Maryn McDade finished 10th in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:34.03 to round out the women's events.
Through Friday's final event, with six days completed and one to go, the men's team is in sixth place with 499.5 points and the women are in 10th with 304 points.
