Men’s Tennis Falls at No. 34 Clemson

CLEMSON, South Carolina – Senior Corey Craig secured his second consecutive win in Florida State's 4-1 loss at No. 34 Clemson Friday evening. The Seminoles fall to 8-9 overall and 0-5 in the ACC, while the Tigers are now 6-9 and 2-3 in the league.
Craig put the Seminoles on the board with a straight-set victory at the top spot, 6-3, 6-1, to briefly tie the overall score at 1-1.
The Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 advantage, claiming the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Henrik Bladelius and Marko Mesarovic scored a 6-2 win on court two over Justin Lyons and Mohammad Alkotop, setting up Matisse Farzam and Yannic Nittmann with a 7-6 (3) victory on court three to clinch the doubles portion. Florida State kept Clemson from a sweep as Erik Schiessl and Jan Sebesta won the battle on court one with a 7-6 (5) win against Viktor Markov and Noa Vukadin.
After Craig tied the contest at 1-1 with his victory on court one, the Tigers battled back to regain the lead, winning on court five where Mesarovic defeated Gabor Hornung, 6-4, 6-1. Clemson again extended its lead with a win on court three as Alkotop fell to Farzam, 6-4, 6-1. The clinching point came down to court six with Nittmann outlasting Lyons in a 6-4, 7-6 battle.
Florida State will conclude its road trip on Sunday with a matchup against Georgia Tech in Atlanta at noon.
