TALLAHASSEE — The Florida State women's tennis team (4-10) fell to No. 29 Miami (9-2) 4-0 on Monday afternoon in a nonconference matchup at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Florida.

Freshman Abby Kelliher delivered a strong performance on Court 6 singles, winning her first set 6-4. Kelliher held a commanding 5-0 lead in the second set when the match was clinched. On Court 1, Eva Shaw faced No. 94 Raquel Gonzalez in a rematch of their meeting this past fall, where Shaw earned a three-set victory that helped send her to the NCAA Singles Championships. Shaw dropped the opening set but had built a 5-3 lead in the second before play was stopped.

In doubles, Cade Cricchio and Mary Boyce Deatherage battled on Court 3. After falling behind 4-1, the duo responded by winning four of the next five games to even the match at 5-5 when doubles play concluded.
Miami secured the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 2 to take a 1-0 lead.

The Hurricanes then earned singles victories on Courts 3, 4 and 5 to earn the 4-0 victory.

The Seminoles return to the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center to resume ACC play on Friday for its Seminole Heritage match at 4 p.m. against No. 21 Virginia before concluding the weekend on Sunday for a Paint It Pink match at noon against Virginia Tech.

Admission is free to all FSU home tennis matches. Live stats and video will be available on seminoles.com.
