Weaver Named Ben Hogan Semifinalist

TALLAHASSEE - Florida State men's golf junior Tyler Weaver was named a semifinalist for the 2026 Ben Hogan Award presented by Baird on Thursday.
Weaver was one of the 10 players on the list, and one of two from the ACC. Three finalists will be named on May 12. The black-tie dinner will be held at the TCU Legends Club in Fort Worth, Texas where the winner will be crowned on Memorial Day.
The Ben Hogan Award annually awards the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer based on results from all collegiate, amateur and professional events played over the previous 12 months. An esteemed international selection committee, comprised of 40 leaders in collegiate, amateur and professional golf, votes during each stage of the process.
Florida State has two Ben Hogan Award winners in program history, including Luke Clanton in 2025. John Pak won the honor in 2021.
Weaver, who is ranked No. 6 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, finished fourth at the 2026 Jones Cup after shooting 2-under, 142 to start the 2026 season.
In five collegiate tournaments this spring, Weaver has finished in the top 20 in all five, including a victory at the Valspar Collegiate.
Weaver won the event in a one-hole playoff, finishing at 15-under, 198, tying for the third-lowest score in FSU history and fourth in tournament history. With his victory, Weaver earned an exemption into the 2027 Valspar.
Prior to his second career collegiate win, Weaver was the runner-up at the Seminole Intercollegiate , 11th at the Cabo Collegiate and fourth at the Watersound Invitational.
This season, Weaver has led the Seminoles to four top five finishes as a team this season, including a victory at the Seminole Intercollegiate and a second-place finish at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial.
The Newmarket, England native, also competed at the World Wide Technology Championship in November of 2025, earning his exemption into the PGA Tour event after winning the Cabo Collegiate in 2025.
Weaver represented England at the World Amateur Team Championship, where he placed 17th. He also represented England at the Walker Cup, U.S. Amateur, St. Andrews Trophy, European Team Championship, European Amateur, Arnold Palmer Cup and U.S. Open, where he finished fourth among amateurs.
The Seminoles will head to the postseason, starting with the ACC Championship, which will be held at the Shark's Tooth Golf Course at the Watersound Club from April 23-27.
