Whaley Set for U.S. Amateur Championship

TALLAHASSEE - The Florida State men's golf rising senior Jack Whaley will compete at the U.S. Amateur Championship, which will be held in Philadelphia from August 10-16.
 
Representing England, Whaley will begin the first round at the Philadelphia Country Club at 8:17 a.m. on Monday.  On Tuesday, Whaley will play in the second round, starting at 1:47 p.m. at the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania.
 
The top 64 finishers from the first two rounds will advance to match play on Wednesday. The field will cut to 32 on Thursday and quarterfinal matches take place on Friday. Semifinals will feature the final four golfers on Saturday, and the final two will play a 36-hole championship match. Coverage will air beginning on Wednesday on Peacock and NBCSN.  Live scoring will be available through the USGA. 
 
Since his arrival at Florida State in August of 2025, Whaley has moved up over 200 spots in the World Golf Amateur Rankings, where he currently sits 90th.  This summer, Whaley competed in three tournaments, finishing 21st at the Western Amateur with a score of 10-under, 274 after carding rounds of 68, 69, 71 and 66. He also placed 33rd at the European Amateur at 1-over, 285 and competed at the British Amateur.
