No. 5 Beach Volleyball Sweeps Day One of the Gulf Front Invitational

TALLAHASSEE – No. 5 Florida State beach volleyball (27-2) continued their undefeated streak on the road with two wins against Mercer (4-25) and FGCU (17-13) at the Gulf Front Invitational in Clearwater Beach.
FSU faced the Bears to begin the tournament, with Myriah Massey and Bailey Higgins jumping up to court four and earning dual point one at 21-10, 21-12. The Noles secured their third complete dual sweep against Mercer, needing only two sets per court to take the win 5-0.
The Seminoles went on to play FGCU, closing out day one with a x-x win over the Eagles. Kyleene Filimaua and Saofe Duval needed only two sets to record a victory on court four (21-12, 21-16), before Gella Andrew and Maddie Trusty quickly followed with a 21-14, 21-19 win on court two.
Day two for Florida State includes matches against USF (18-11) at 10:15 am and #13 LSU (17-13) at 12:45 pm. Live stats will be available on Seminoles.com
