Six Seminoles Named to NFCA All-Region Teams

TALLAHASSEE -  Six Seminoles were named to the NFCA All-Gulf Region Teams on Thursday afternoon including a region-leading five players on the first team. Jaysoni Beachum, Ashtyn Danley, Jazzy Francik, Anna Hinde and Isa Torres were named to the first team while Marin Heller was named to the second team. FSU's five first team selections tied a school record (1995). All the All-Region selections are now eligible for All-America honors. 

Beachum has been as steady as they come for the Seminoles this season as the Tallahassee native is hitting .404 with eight home runs and a team-leading 61 RBI. Beachum has reached base in 45-consecutive games which is tied for the second-longest streak in school history and is just six games away from breaking the school record. Beachum has been walked a career-high 51 times this season to give her a .548 on-base percentage which is in the top 25 in the country. 

Danley has done a little bit of everything for the Noles this season. Danley has continued to be a force in the circle with a 12-1 record and a 2.04 ERA but has had a breakout year offensively for the Noles. Danley is hitting .351 with a career-high eight home runs and 51 RBI. Danley also has 16 doubles on the season. Danley has been dominate in the circle as of late as she has allowed just one earned run in her last 24.2 innings. 

Francik has once again led the Noles in the circle as the ACC Pitcher of the Year holds a 22-2 record and a team-leading 1.75 ERA. Francik has thrown three no-hitters this season and has recorded a couple of saves. Opponents are hitting jut .182 off of Francik. Francik has also shined lately as she has posted a 1.27 ERA in her last 49.2 innings. 

Hinde has shined in her first year in the Garnet and Gold as the true freshman is hitting .340 this season with seven home runs and 40 RBI. Hinde has reached base in 47 out of the 57 games this season and has a hit in 39 out of the 57 games. Hinde has also been great behind the plate as she has not committed an error in 162 chances and has thrown five runners out in 15 stolen base attempts. 

Torres has emerged as one of the top players in the sport this season. The ACC Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year has posted a staggering .542 batting average with 16 home runs and 52 RBI. Torres has committed just one error in 164 chances this season at shortstop. Torres broke the NCAA record with 16-consecutive hits from March 8-20 and also reached base in 23-consecutive plate appearances during that time. Torres is on pace to break the school record for batting average, hits, slugging percentage and on-base percentage. 

Heller stepped right into the role at second base and excelled for the Noles. The freshman hit .353 with a pair of home runs and 25 RBI in 48 games. Hellerr was terrific in the field as she posted a .983 fielding percentage with just three errors in 172 attempts at second base.
