Pinkard Highlights Final Day of NCAA East First Round

LEXINGTON, Ky.– The Florida State women's track and field team concluded the NCAA East Regional First Round on Saturday at the Shively Track and Field Stadium, highlighted by Kayla Pinkard.
Pinkard punched her second consecutive ticket after being runner-up in the women's triple jump, increasing her personal-best with the fourth-farthest jump in program history at 13.66 meters.
The women's 4x100-meter relay behind Lucy May Sleeman, Shenese Walker, Liana Tyson and Micayah Holland started off competition on the track with the sixth-fastest qualifying time of 42.96, tying their season best that was set at the ACC Outdoor Championships two weeks ago.
Walker secured her individual ticket for the third straight year by winning the first heat of the 100 meters in with a time of 10.88. Sleeman wrapped up her individual season in the event, finishing 20th overall after recording a season-best time of 11.26.
Between the men's and women's teams, Florida State is set to have 15 entries at the NCAA Outdoor National Championship at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, on June 10-13.
