Seminoles Prepare for NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – The Florida State track and field teams are set for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon at historic Hayward Field from June 10-13.
MEET NOTES:
The Seminoles have seven men and eight women competing in seven individual events and one relay at the top collegiate meet in the country. The men will compete on Wednesday and Friday, while the women's events will take place Thursday and Saturday.
Florida State has had at least one All-American at every NCAA Championship since 1968.
Andre Korbmacher and Zach Extine will begin the sprints in the 110-meter hurdles at 9:08 p.m. ET. The Seminoles will need to finish within the top two of their heat or post the next three fastest qualifying times to make the 12-team final on Friday. Both Seminoles moved up on the FSU all-time top 10 list at the ACC Championships on May 16. Extine, who finished second in the event, ran the third-fastest time in program history at 13.32, while Korbmacher placed third with the fifth-fastest time in FSU history at 13.36.
In the field, Curtis Williams will begin on Wednesday at 9:40 p.m. ET with the finals of the men's long jump. The Tallahassee native will need to finish within the top nine of the preliminary rounds to qualify for another three attempts for a spot on the podium and a first-team All-American nod.
NCAA indoor 60 meter national champion Shenese Walker returns to Eugene for the third and final NCAA Championships appearance of her collegiate career. Walker will compete in the women's 100 and run the second leg on Florida State's 4x100-meter relay team. She enters the national meet with the fourth-fastest 100-meter time in the NCAA this season at 10.80, which also set a Florida State and ACC record and stands as the fastest time recorded by a Jamaican woman this year.
Junior transfer Shamar Reid is set to make his NCAA Outdoor Championships debut in the men's discus throw. Reid enters the national meet in outstanding form after capturing the ACC Outdoor Championship title with a massive personal best and school record throw of 65.87 meters. Reid followed that performance by winning the NCAA East First Round competition with a mark of 64.22 meters. Reid is seeded second in the field and stands as the fourth-ranked Jamaican discus thrower in 2026.
Freshman Rylee Blade enters her first collegiate Outdoor Championship in the women's 10,000, seeded 17th. Blade is coming off a historic performance in the event after being crowned the first freshman in FSU history to win the event at the ACC Outdoor Championship. Blade becomes FSU's first qualifier in the event since Militsa Mircheva in 2019.
Kayla Pinkard, who is seeded seventh in the women's triple jump, will compete in her second and final collegiate National Championship. Pinkard highlighted the final day of the NCAA East First Round after being runner-up in the event, increasing her personal-best with the fourth-farthest jump in program history at 13.66 meters.
