Weaver Named to Haskins Award Preseason Watch List

TALLAHASSEE – The Haskins Foundation announced on Thursday its Fred Haskins Award Preseason Watch List candidates for the 2026-27 season. Florida State men's golf senior Tyler Weaver was among the 25 student-athletes in the nation named to the list.
Beginning in 1971, the Fred Haskins Award is annually given to the top male U.S. collegiate D1 golfer as voted on by players, coaches, members of the college golf media, and past Haskins Award winners. Past winners of the Haskins Award have captured 33 major championships and more than 400 professional tournaments around the world. Named in honor of Fred Haskins, the award is managed by the Haskins Foundation to acknowledge the top male golfer at the end of the season and to match the ANNIKA Award, which acknowledges the top female Division I collegiate golfer.
Weaver appears on the watch list for the second straight season. Weaver finished the 2025-26 season with a scoring average of 69.58, marking the fifth-best average in program history. He joins Luke Clanton, John Pak, and Daniel Berger as the only Noles to turn in single season averages under 70 strokes. He was named First Team All-America by Golfweek and Second Team All-America by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Weaver finished in the top 25 in each of his eight starts last season, and won the 2026 Valspar Collegiate, earning exemption into the PGA TOUR event in May of 2027.
The 2026 Ben Hogan Award semifinalist also took home All-ACC honors and was named to the All-ACC Academic and College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team for At-Large sports.
Weaver enters the season ranked second in the World Golf Amateur Rankings and will be playing for Great Britain and Ireland in the Walker Cup, running from Sept. 5-6.
