Florida State Duo Named ACC Graduate Scholar-Athletes of the Year

Kayleigh Clark (Swimming and Diving) and Nathan Cmeyla (Baseball) earn academic honor
Tallahassee – Florida State's Kayleigh Clark and Nathan Cmeyla earned ACC Graduate Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition, as announced by the league office Friday.

Clark, a member of the swimming and diving team since 2020, earned her graduate degree in Sport Psychology. This past season, she was named to the CSC Academic All-District Team and the All-ACC Academic Team while also earning CSCAA Scholar All-America recognition.

The Marietta, Georgia native concluded one of the most accomplished seasons in Florida State diving history in 2025-26, earning All-America honors and an NCAA bronze medal on the platform while becoming the Seminoles' highest NCAA finisher since 2014. She also garnered All-ACC honors, captured the ACC bronze medal on platform and qualified for the NCAA Championships in all three diving events.

At the NCAA Zone B Championships, Clark secured NCAA Championship berths in the 1-meter, 3-meter and platform events before closing her collegiate career with a third-place finish on platform at the NCAA Championships, where she set a personal-best score of 333.30. She also placed 17th on the 1-meter and 31st on the 3-meter at the national meet.

Cmeyla, a member of the baseball program the last two years, earned his graduate degree in Business Analytics. Off the field, he was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll this past season.

On the diamond, the Ashburn, Virginia native helped the Seminoles finish in the top 20 in the national polls while also earning the program's 62nd postseason berth. He played in 40 games with 35 starts, primarily at catcher, and hit .301 with a .485 slugging percentage.

Cmeyla totaled 136 at-bats, registering 41 hits, five home runs, eight doubles, one triple, 30 RBI, 21 runs scored, 66 total bases and seven walks.

To earn ACC Graduate Scholar-Athlete of the Year recognition, student-athletes must successfully complete a graduate degree program (excluding certificate programs) and meet the Conference's athletic participation requirements during at least one season while enrolled as a graduate student.
