Women’s Tennis Heads to Tampa for Bedford Cup

TALLAHASSEE – The Florida State women's tennis team travels to Tampa this weekend to compete in the Bedford Cup, a Florida-only tournament hosted by USF featuring teams from across the state.
The tournament field includes Florida State, UCF, Stetson, FAU, North Florida, Florida A&M, FIU and FGCU.
The Bedford Cup begins Friday with matches starting at 9 a.m. Doubles play will feature the round of 16 and quarterfinals, while singles competition will begin with the round of 16. Saturday's action will include the doubles semifinals and singles quarterfinals and semifinals before the tournament concludes Sunday with the singles and doubles finals.
Florida State returns to the Bedford Cup for the first time since 2023. In that tournament, then-freshman and current senior Laura Putz went 3-0 in doubles play to capture the Bedford Cup doubles title.
Returning sophomores Abby Kelliher and Lauren Anderson will also compete for the Seminoles, while freshmen Nicole Okhtenberg and Ariana Gilbert are set to make their collegiate debuts.
