Florida State won a midweek game against UCF, 10-2, after taking two-of-three from NC State over the weekend. The Seminoles have won five straight series to start the year for the first time since 2016.

FSU ranks second nationally with 12.8 strikeouts per nine innings and has hit double-digits in 16 straight games. The Noles 270 total strikeouts are tops in the country.

Messick (2nd, 51), Hubbart (2nd, 51) and Dunn (14th, 45) all rank in the Top 15 nationally in strikeouts.

After outlasting NC State in 17 innings Sunday night, FSU turned around and beat UCF 10-2 Tuesday in Tallahassee. Alex Toral hit his team-high sixth home run, and the redshirt senior also leads the team in RBI with 23 and doubles with eight (tied with Jaime Ferrer and Reese Albert). Albert had a pair of hits against the Knights and is hitting a team-best .390 on the season.

Shortstop Jordan Carrion has started the past 17 games at shortstop and set a career-high with three hits Tuesday. James Tibbs tied a career-high with two hits vs. UCF.

Duke has dropped both ACC series to start the year, but did deliver 20-1 Virginia its only loss on the season. Duke dropped two-of-three this past weekend against North Carolina and fell Tuesday at home against William & Mary, 14-3.
