No. 7 TCU Visits for Pivotal Non-Con Series

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State (24-15) hosts No. 7 TCU (27-14) for a pivotal non-conference series between two programs trying to solidify their postseason positions. This will be the first regular-season meeting between the two programs.
Friday and Sunday’s games will stream on ACC Network Extra, while Saturday’s contest will air nationally on ACC Network. Eric Luallen will provide radio coverage via 100.7 FM in Tallahassee or the FSU Gameday app nationwide.

FSU comes into the series ranked No. 20 in the RPI, while TCU is No. 29.
Florida State has won five consecutive games against Top 25 teams, including a series sweep of No. 9 Louisville two weeks ago at Dick Howser Stadium.
TCU enters the weekend after winning consecutive weekend series against No. 4 Texas Tech and No. 3 Oklahoma State.
Of Note:
- Friday night starting pitcher Parker Messick continues to lead the country in strikeouts, with 102. He is the first Seminole since Drew Parrish (2018-19) with back-to-back 100-strikeout seasons and only the second Nole in the past decade to accomplish the feat. Messick also ranks second nationally with 14.73 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.
- Messick has not allowed a run at home over the past 21.2 innings, covering starts against Duke, No. 16 Notre Dame and No. 9 Louisville. Messick earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors for his games against Duke (14 strikeouts, 4 hits) and Louisville (14 strikeouts, 0 walks, 5 hits). Against the Irish, Messick struck out 11 hitters in 8.0 innings.
- As a staff, FSU leads the country with 479 strikeouts on the season. The Noles are second in the country with 11.9 strikeouts per nine innings.
