Noles Geared up for Last Chance Invite

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No.18/NR Florida State swimming and diving teams will compete at the Georgia Last Chance Invite on this weekend at the Gabrielsen Natatorium at the University of Georgia.
The Seminoles will look for one final push to qualify for the NCAA Championships in March.
“We’re excited to race and see if we can get a couple more to nationals,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “They have looked great all week and we’re ready to go.”
Prelims will start at 10 a.m., on Saturday and Sunday, with finals following at 5 p.m., on Saturday. Finals will begin at 4 p.m., on Sunday.

The Last Time Out
The 18th-ranked men finished in sixth place and the women took seventh at the 2023 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center last week.
Yordan Yanchev and Arjius Pavlidi broke FSU records during the meet.
Yanchev lowered his mark he established last season (4:14.16) to 4:12.97 in the 500 free, winning the bronze medal. Pavlidi broke the oldest record in the book, touching at 1:40.37 to win the consolation heat of the 200 back, erasing Andy Hodgson’s (1:41.11) mark that was set back in 2009.
Edith Jernstedt contributed the second-fastest time in school history in the 200 fly (1:55.78) for seventh place.
Tazman Abramowicz, Samatha Vear, and Izzy Gregersen all earned trips to the final in diving events.
Vear placed sixth (320.70) on 3-meter and fourth on 1-meter (296.95), while Abramowicz took fifth (363.90) in the men’s 3-meter. Gregersen finished eighth on platform (216.25).
The divers are preparing for the NCAA Zone B Championships that will be held in Knoxville, Tenn., from March 5-8.
