Seminoles seeded fourth for NCAA Championships

Florida State is the fourth seed at the NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships at Gulf Shores Public Beach in Gulf Shores, Ala. this week. Under the new format adopted this year, 16 teams will compete in the single-elimination format. The main bracket of dual matches will be played on Friday, May 5, with quarterfinal and semifinal matches on Saturday. The national championship match will be Sunday at 12:00 a.m. ET on ESPN.
FSU reached the national championship match in the double-elimination format last year finishing second in the country after losing 3-1 to Southern California.
The Noles first match will take place on Friday May 5 at 12:00 p.m. ET against No. 13 Florida International and will be live on ESPNU and streamed live on ESPN+. Florida State holds a 13-3 advantage in the series against FIU and played them at the Seminole Beach Bash earlier this season winning 4-1.
The winner of FSU vs. FIU will take on the winner of LSU vs. FAU, who play Friday at 1:00 p.m., in a quarterfinal match Saturday at 11:00 a.m. ET on ESPN2. The semifinal match on FSU’s side of the bracket will be played Saturday at 2:00 p.m. ET and also televised on ESPN2.
