FRESHMAN (2020):

Hit .378 in 37 at-bats, with four doubles, seven RBI, four runs scored and eight walks drawn…was hit by his only pitch in the season finale against Illinois State…started 11 games, including the final four of the season at first base…ended the year on a four-game hitting streak…against No. 1 Florida on March 10, had a season-high three hits, including a pair of doubles, in the Noles’ 2-0 victory…also had a pair of hits against Niagara in his first two appearances as a Nole, at No. 12 Duke and in the finale against ISU…had the game-winning two-run single against Illinois State, leading FSU to a 7-4 win…made three pitching appearances, against Niagara, Cincinnati and Mercer…both strikeouts came against the Purple Eagles…did not factor into any decisions.


Enrolled at Florida State in January 2020…earned honor roll all four years of high school at Trinity Christian…helped lead the Conquerors to a regional title as a senior…ranked the No. 1 high school first baseman and could also pitch for the Seminoles…diagnosed with lymphoma in May 2019, undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments throughout the summer and fall at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville before coming to Florida State in January…parents are Scott and Tracey Simmons…brothers Ryan and Justin…majoring in exercise physiology…born October 5, 2000.
