ON CLANTON
The top collegiate golfer in America for the 2024-25 season…Won the McCormack Medal as the world's top amateur golfer on August 21, 2024...on the initial Haskins Award Watch List for the 2024-25 season...a preseason First-Team All-American by both the Golf Channel and Golfweek entering the 2024-25 season...his career stroke average entering his junior season of 70.35 is the second-lowest in school history…the all-time school-record for lowest career stroke average is 69.87 by John Pak (2019-21)…rose to the top of the men’s WAGR ranking after a Round of 64 victory at the U.S. Amateur at Hazeltine National Golf Club in August of 2024...played in five PGA Tour Events during summer of 2024 – The US Open (tied for 41st), Rocket Mortgage Classic (tied for 10th), John Deere Classic (tied for second), ISCO Championship (tied for 37th place) and the Wyndham Championship (5th)…Clanton made his U.S. Open debut at Pinehurst and became the first amateur in championship history to record consecutive rounds in the 60s with back-to-back 69s in the second and third rounds...his tied for 10th place finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic and tied for second place finish at the John Deere Classic made him the first amateur to record top-10 finishes in back-to-back starts on the PGA Tour since Billy Joe Patton in 1957…his tied for 10th place finished at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in his second career start on the PGA Tour came as he carded a 65 during the third round, the low round of the day…his finished marked the third top-10 finish by an amateur on PGA Tour during the 2024 season…finished tied for second at the John Deere Classic, his second consecutive top-10…at age 20, he became the youngest player to finish runner-up in a since Jordan Spieth at the 2014 Masters Tournament…Clanton is the first player since Jack Nicklaus in 1961 to record three top-10 finishes in the same season as an amateur on the PGA Tour...the first player with a 63 or better in the first and final rounds of a PGA Tour event since Adam Scott at the 2023 CJ CUP Byron Nelson Championship…in 2022, Clanton won the Azalea Invitational and the North & South Amateur at Pinehurst…finished in a tie for 41st place the 2024 US Open which was also played at Pinehurst. Finished in first at the Seminole Intercollegiate scoring 15-under, 195 with five birdies on the back nine.  
 

AS A JUNIOR (2025)
Named to the Haskins Award Watch List to begin the 2024-25 season...a preseason First-Team All-American by both the Golf Channel and Golfweek in his third season...finished in a tie for sixth place in the individual standings at th Fighting Illini Invitational at Olympia Fields...tied for the team lead with a 1 under par 69 in the first round of the Fighting Illini Invitational...totaled three birdies, 17 holes scored at par or better and just one bogey in his junior season collegiate debut...in a tie for third place in the individual standings and led the Seminoles to a tie for fifth place in the team standings after one round of the Fighting Illini Invitational...finished in a tied for sixth in the individual standings of the Fighting Illini Invitational with scores of 68-70-69 for a three round total of 3 under par 207...finished in first place at the Watersound Invitational with 10 under par...Finished first in the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial scoring 5-under, 208...finished tied for 14th at the ACC Championships at 3-under, 213...was 1-0-1 in match play after defeating Ziqin Zhou of California 2UP...tied Maxwell Ford of North Carolina after winning the final three holes...won the NCAA Tallahassee Regional behind a three-round low of 201...became the second FSU player to win the Ben Hogan Award...finished tied for 22nd at the NCAA Championship

AS A SOPHOMORE (2024)
Enjoyed one of the greatest single seasons in Florida State history…established the single-season record for lowest scoring average, shooting 69.33…became the first Seminole ever to win three consecutive tournaments…earned wins at the Seminole Intercollegiate, the Valspar Collegiate Invitational and the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial…recorded 10 Top 10 finishes in 14 tournaments played in the 2023-24 year…finished at par or less in 30 of his 40 rounds played as a sophomore…rated as the nation's top collegiate golfer according to the Clippd rankings…selected to the All-ACC Team…earned a spot as a Ben Hogan Award National Semifinalist…named as the ACC Golfer of the Month in March and April 2024…selected as the SwingU Golfer of the Month in April 2024…earned an exemption to the 2025 Valspar Championship on the PGA Tour…qualified for the 2024 U.S. Open as an Amateur.

AS A FRESHMAN (2023)
Recorded an average score of 71.49…one of FSU's hottest performers by year's end, as he entered the NCAA Championships with nine straight rounds at par or less…clinched FSU’s match-play semifinal win over Illinois at the NCAA Championships, defeating Jackson Buchanan, 1Up…finished in a tie for 22nd at the NCAA Championships at 2-over (72-71-71-68)…became the first FSU freshman ever to win a regional, shooting 6-under at the NCAA Morgan Hill Regional in California…tied for ninth at the ACC Men’s Golf Championship, shooting 4-under…strong showing at the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial, tying for third with a 9-under 204…finished in a tie for second at the Seminole Intercollegiate, carding a 5-under 211…finished in a tie for 62nd in his collegiate debut at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate, shooting a 2-over 212 (78-66-68)…place in a tie for 17th at Olympia Fields, shooting a 3-over 213 (73-70-70)…finished in a tie for 22nd at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, shooting a 5-over (71-77-73) 221…finished in a tie for 17th in stroke play at the Jackson Stephens Cup, shooting a 2-under 214…defeated North Carolina’s David Ford (individual champion), 1UP, in the Jackson Stephens Cup championship match.

BEFORE FLORIDA STATE
Graduated from American Heritage High School in 2022…a three-time state high school champion (2019, 2021, 2022) and runner-up in the state championship tournament as a sophomore…the recipient of the AT&T Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Award in 2023…finished in a tie for fifth at the 74th United States Junior Amateur Championship (74-68)…finished in a 23rd place in the Western Amateur Championship (69-70-70-71)…finished fifth (quarterfinalist) in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship (74-68)…placed eighth in the Pacific Coast Amateur (68-70-69-69)…the champion of the North & South Amateur Championship (71-68)…finished third at the Terra Cotta Invitational (71-71-68)…the 2022 Azalea Invitational Champion (68-72-69)…finished in a tie for ninth in the 2022 Junior Invitational at Sage Valley Golf Club (71-70-72) and tied for third at the 2022 Dustin Johnson World Junior (72-69-71)…earned medalist honors at the 2021-22 Florida High School State Championship (72-69)…the Broward Boys Golfer of the Year…finished tied for eighth at the 2021 Rolex Tournament of Champions (75-74-69-69) and tied for 19th in the 2021 Junior Players Championship (72-77-72)…a third place finish (semifinalist) in the 2021 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship (72-72)…a fourth place finish in the Team TaylorMade Invitational (73-72-62)…the Runner-up in the 2021 Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship (69-72-74)…finished fourth in the Sean Foley Performance Junior Championship (74-74-71)…the champion of the 2020-21 Florida High School State Championship (69-68)…a tie for ninth place finish at the 2020 71st Four-Ball Championship (68-67)…tied for second at the 2019-20 Florida High School State Championship (77-70)…champion of the 2018-19 Florida High School State Championship (75-69)

PERSONAL
Born: November 5, 2003…Luke is the son of Rhonda and David Clanton…Rhonda, a flight attendant, and David works as a golf instructor and as a landscaper while also owning a glass business…began his golf career at the Country Club of Miami with his father as his first instructor…the third of three children, Luke is the youngest brother to sisters Ray and Abby…Ray is a model, while Abby played college soccer at West Alabama and is currently a veterinarian…major is social science.
