Graduate Student (2023)

Finished the season with a .267 batting average with 6 home runs and 43 RBI...In the circle, Leonard was 2-2 with a 2.78 ERA and one save...Was vital for FSU's pitching staff in the postseason as she allowed just four earned runs in 14.1 innings in the ACC and NCAA Tournament...Her best outing in the circle came in the second game of the Super Regional against Georgia where she held one of the nation's top offenses to just one run in 4.1 innings to help FSU advance to the Women's College World Series...Hit an RBI single into right for the first run of the game against Florida (4/26)…Launched the first pitch she saw for a three-run home run, her fifth of the season (4/22)…Provided a timely two-run RBI single coupled with another single for a two-hit game (4/15)…Hit twice in each game of the three game series against Georgia Tech, recorded a double in each game, and finished the weekend with two home runs, five RBIs, and six hits (3/31-4/2)…Pitched 2.0 innings with four punch outs against Georgia Southern (3/5)…Launched two long balls against Louisiana for her first home runs of the season (2/19) and pitched 4.0 innings against second-ranked UCLA conceding just one hit (2/18)…Hit in the last three games of the JoAnne Graf Classic and started in the circle against Longwood, striking out two and allowing one hit in under 3 innings of work (2/12).


Senior (2022)

Played in and started 60 games in her first year at Florida State… finished the season with a team-leading .375 batting average (66-for-176)… she was tied for the team lead in hits with 66 and second on the team with 15 doubles… she recorded 49 RBI with eight home runs and a triple… in the circle, Leonard finished the season with a 3-0 record and a 3.36 ERA… she pitched 33.1 innings and allowed 16 earned runs while striking out 24 batters… started her Florida State career with a perfect 3-for-3 game with a home run, a triple and three RBI against Mercer (2/11)… once again was perfect at the plate with three hits and two RBI against Kennesaw State (2/12)… had her second home run as a Seminoles in a 3-for-3 day at the plate with three RBI against No. 16 Tenessee (2/17)… hit a two-run home run against Indiana (2/26)… was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored against Pitt (3/5)… went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI against Georgia Tech (3/11)… was 4-for-4 with two doubles and five RBI against North Florida (3/30)… went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI at North Carolina (4/17)… hit her seventh home run at NC State (5/7) when she went 3-for-4 with two RBI… hit the go-ahead home run in the ACC Championship game against No. 15 Clemson (5/14) in the sixth inning… pitched a season high four innings at Lipscomb (3/15) and allowed just one hit… had a season high five strikeouts in two innings at North Carolina (4/16)… pitched 3.2 inning allowing no runs with three strikeout at Florida (4/6)…


JUNIOR, ISU (2021)

Made an appearance in all 41 games for the Redbirds … Named to the All-MVC First Team … NFCA All-Mideast Region Second Team pick … Earned MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team honors … Led the team in batting average (.425), runs scored (36), doubles (8), triples (2), home runs (10), RBIs (38) and walks (26) … Single season batting average ranks third all-time at ISU … Finished in the top five in the MVC in all major statistical categories … Logged a team-leading 18 multi-hit and 10 multi-RBI games … Ended the season on a 26-game reached base streak … Ranked 27th nationally in on-base percentage (.532) and 34th in batting average Posted an 11-4 recorded in the circle with a 3.33 ERA … Tossed nine complete games with six shutouts and one save … Struck out 80 batters in 21 appearances and 17 starts in 100.0 innings of work.


SOPHOMORE, ISU (2020)

Started in all 20 games she was available for the Redbirds during her sophomore season, leading the team in batting average (.443), runs scored (19), doubles (10) and total bases (63) … Named to the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team for her success in the classroom … Launched her first career long ball in a 9-3 season-opening win at USF (Feb. 6), finishing the year tied with a team best of six … Led the team with a .900 slugging percentage and .481 on base percentage, while turning in a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage … Led the Valley in doubles, while ranking No. 14 in the nation … Her 63 total bases was the 24th most in NCAA Division I and led the MVC by 13 … Logged a team-leading 11 multi-hit games, while turning in a trio of multi-RBI games … Ended the season on team-best 13 game hitting streak … Made 12 appearances in the circle for ISU, turning in a 3-2 record with a shutout … Fanned a career-high four batters in a win over Austin Peay (Feb. 29) … Shortened season due to COVID-19 pandemic and the cancellation of events and championships by the NCAA.


FRESHMAN, ISU (2019)

Appeared in 26 games for the Redbirds as a true freshman, including 18 in the circle … Recognized as the MVC’s Newcomer of the Week on March 11 for her performance at the FAU/FIU Parents’ Weekend Tournament … Earned three starts in the circle, pitching her first career complete game versus Florida Atlantic (March 10) … Fanned a season-best three batters on four occasions … Posted a batting average of .300, going 15-for-50 at the dish with five runs scored and a double … Scored her first career run against LIU Brooklyn (March 9) … Tallied her first career hit versus Central Michigan (Feb. 15) as the designated player … Turned in three multi-hit games, including a season-best three hit outing against LIU Brooklyn (March 9).

Mackenzie Lee Leonard is the daughter of the late Kenneth Leonard, Jr. and Lana Leonard … Younger sister to Machayla … Father, Kenneth, competed in track & field at Illinois State from 1989-1993 … Was the 1991 MVC Champion in the decathlon and runner-up in 1992 and 1993 … Mother, Lana, played softball for Coach Fischer at Illinois State from 1989-1993 … Sister, Machayla, played volleyball at Illinois State … Born Sept. 27, 1999 in Bloomington, Illinois … Plans to pursue a career in math or science.
