In the opener against UIC a the UNF Invitational logged three kills, three digs, and three blocks... added four kills, two blocks, and one dig against UNF to conclude the weekend... Logged four kills against USF... Logged three kills, three blocks, one dig, and one assist versus South Carolina over the course of the South Florida Showdown... Before FSU
Payton Whalen is from Peoria, Arizona, and played her high school volleyball at Centennial High School. Whalen was a four-year captain for Centennial and helped them to the 5A State Tournament the last three seasons. The 6-1 outside and opposite hitter has tallied over 1,500 kills for Centennial. Whalen was named a First Team 5A Northwest All-Region selection in all four years of her high school career. Off the court, Whalen was an AP Scholar and an AP Capstone candidate. Whalen plans on majoring in exercise physiology at Florida State.
Whalen is the daughter of Jen and Kevin Whalen. Her cousin, Jayden Nabor, is an All-American swimmer at the University of Arizona.
