Josh Turner has served as Florida State’s Deputy Athletics Director and Chief Financial Officer since February 2025. He leads the department’s business and financial strategy with a strong emphasis on revenue generation and long-term financial sustainability.
Turner has executive oversight of the department’s core business and revenue-generating functions, including strategic financial planning, revenue sharing, NIL, multimedia rights, business innovation, contracts, and analytics. He works closely with the Vice President and Director of Athletics on special projects and collaborates regularly with key stakeholders, including University Finance & Administration, the Office of the General Counsel, Seminole Boosters, and Legends.
Prior to joining FSU, Turner was the Senior Associate Athletics Director for Business Operations at Georgia Southern, where he managed both the athletics department budget and the athletics foundation budget. He also launched new revenue strategies and developed a five-year plan to achieve balanced budgets and funded reserves. He also served as sport administrator for baseball, women’s volleyball, and women’s golf, and played a key role in the renovation and development of multiple athletic facilities.
Turner previously served as Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations at the University of Miami, where he managed the Athletics Business Office and served as the primary football liaison. He began his collegiate athletics administration career at Georgia Southern in 2020. Prior to that, he spent three years at IMG Academy and was a consultant for the Tampa Bay Rays.
A native of Salem, Virginia, Turner earned his bachelor’s degree from Southeastern University, where he was a baseball student-athlete. He and his wife, Bailey, are the proud parents of their daughter, Olivia.
