Kayla Hughes joined the Florida State University Student-Athlete Academic Services Staff in May 2023. She began as an academic fellow working with track & field before transitioning into her current role in February 2024.
Prior to Florida State University, Hughes served as the tutor coordinator and academic advisor for the Student-Athlete Academic Enhancement Center at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Hughes earned her master’s degree in sport management from the University of West Georgia in 2022. While pursuing her degree, she was a member of the softball team for one season (2020-21) and served as the graduate assistant softball coach for another season (2021-22).
Hughes attended Tennessee Technological University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in special education in May 2020. During her time at Tennessee Tech, she was a member of the softball team.
Hughes was selected and participated in the 2024 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar. Hughes is a native of Chickamauga, Georgia.
