TALLAHASSEE – No. 21 Florida State (30-17, 13-11 ACC) wraps up its regular season home schedule with a three-game series against No. 6 Miami (36-12, 17-7) this weekend at Dick Howser Stadium. Friday and Saturday’s games are at 7:00 p.m., while Sunday’s finale is at noon.
Friday’s opener will stream on ACC Network Extra; Saturday’s game is on ACC Network, and Sunday’s closer is on ESPN2.
Eric Luallen will provide radio coverage via 100.7 FM in Tallahassee or the FSU Gameday app nationwide all weekend.
This weekend is a pivotal series as both teams look to solidify its postseason position. In addition to being No. 6 in the D1Baseball poll, the Hurricanes are also at 6 in the RPI. Florida State is 18 in the RPI, jumping seven spots after Tuesday’s doubleheader sweep of Jacksonville.
The Seminoles have won five straight against Miami, including a 4-0 mark last season. FSU swept the Hurricanes in Coral Gables before also winning in the ACC Tournament.
Florida State will recognize its graduating class (Friday) and senior class (Saturday) before the first two games of the series. On Saturday, the Atlanta Braves World Series Trophy will be set up in Haggard Plaza for fans to take a picture.
On Sunday, Florida State will honor its first African-American varsity player, Edwin ‘Nick’ Harris. Harris, from Camden, New Jersey, played for the Seminoles from 1967-68. His first career start came against Miami in the 1967 season opener, a 9-4 FSU win.
