TALLAHASSEE, Fla.  –  The 2021 ACC Swimming and Diving Championships are set to begin on Wednesday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center for the Florida State swimming and diving teams.

The first week of competition will run from Feb. 17-20 and will feature the Seminoles in women’s swimming and men’s diving, while the men’s swimming portion of the meet will  take place Feb. 24-27.

“It’s been a crazy year,” FSU head coach Neal Studd said. “We were missing some key people, but the ladies are happy and having fun. We are looking forward to swimming fast.”

Competition will start with diving prelims on Wednesday at 11 a.m., featuring men’s 1-meter.

Senior Joshua Davidson will look to defend his 1-meter title from 2020, while freshmen Jesco Helling and Darwin Nolasco will make their ACC debuts.  The top eight divers from prelims will advance to finals at 2 p.m.

“It’s been an interesting year for us,” FSU head diving coach John Proctor said. “Everyone has been in the same boat and has had to adjust and battle through some adversity, but hey, we made it here and we’re going to give it everything we have. Our guys look good and they’re ready to go.”

The 200 medley relay will take off at 5:15 p.m., and the 800 free relay will follow shortly after.

Individual races for the RV Seminoles will start on Thursday at 11 a.m. and will feature the 500 free, 200 IM and 50 free. The top 24 swimmers in each race will compete in finals starting at 7 p.m.
