TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Sophomore outfielder Elijah Cabell was named Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Player of the Week Monday after hitting three home runs with 11 runs batted in four games against USF and Cincinnati. Cabell was also hit by six pitches and drew four walks.

The award is the first league honor of Cabell’s career.

On Friday, with FSU trailing 3-1, Cabell uncorked a 369-foot three-run home run that gave FSU a lead it would not relinquish. On Saturday, with a slim 4-3 lead, Cabell blasted a 426-foot three-run homer that extended the Noles lead.

On Sunday, Cabell hit his second career grand slam, a 429-foot home run that gave FSU an 8-1 lead and was the Noles first hit of the afternoon. As a team, FSU was 4-0 on the week and has won six straight.

In addition to his home runs, Cabell was hit by six pitches, including a school record-tying three in Saturday’s contest. Cabell did not have an error in the outfield.

For the season, Cabell leads the ACC in both runs scored (12) and runs batted in (15). He ranks in the Top 10 nationally in both categories, while also leading the country with eight hit-by-pitches.

Cabell and the Seminoles are back on the field Tuesday for its road opener at Jacksonville. FSU is back in Dick Howser Stadium this weekend for two games each against Florida Atlantic and No. 5 Texas Tech.
