The Seminoles are coming off a midweek loss to Florida in Jacksonville after a home series win over No. 10 NC State last weekend, their second top-15 series win to begin the ACC season. Six of Florida State's last 13 games have been run-rule wins, including one in both of its first two conference series. This weekend's series is part of a nine-game stretch of games held within the state of Florida and three of seven in Tallahassee.

As a team, Florida State is hitting .297 with 232 hits, 34 home runs, 53 doubles, four triples, 133 walks, 205 runs scored and 177 RBI. The pitching staff has a 3.62 ERA with 80 earned runs allowed on 144 hits with 258 strikeouts and 94 walks in 199.0 innings.

SERIES HISTORY VS. DUKE
Florida State is 84-30 all-time against Duke, including 46-11 at home, 27-12 on the road and 11-6 at a neutral site. The last two matchups have been in the ACC Championship, a 14-7 win in the 2025 quarterfinal after a 16-4 loss in the 2024 title game. The Blue Devils come to Tallahassee for the first time since 2024, when FSU took two-of-three. The Seminoles also won the series in Durham in 2024. In a series that began in Tallahassee in 1954, Florida State has two 13-game win streaks, from 1997-2001 and again from 2002-2005, with just one loss in between those streaks. Following a solo defeat in 2005, another five-game win streak followed, for a 31-2 stretch.

In the 2025 ACC Championship quarterfinal on May 23, then-No. 6-ranked and second-seeded Florida State opened the postseason with a 14-7 win over seventh-seeded Duke. The Seminoles scored 14 runs on 18 hits in the win, their highest-scoring ACC Championship game since a 17-5 victory in the 2004 title game. The offensive barrage was fueled by an eight-run third inning, where Florida State sent 12 batters to the plate and hit for the cycle as a team. That turned a 3-2 lead into an 11-2 advantage. Bailey hit two home runs as part of a four-hit, four-RBI day with three runs scored. Six players had multiple hits, including Brody DeLamielleure, who notched three hits and three runs scored with an RBI.

SCOUTING THE BLUE DEVILS
Duke is 17-10 on the season, including 15-6 at home and 2-4 on the road. The Blue Devils are 4-5 in the ACC. Coming off a 9-8 win vs. East Carolina on Tuesday, Duke will play back-to-back road ACC series after a pair of losses in three games at Virginia Tech from March 20-22. The Blue Devils also own a home series win over Miami and a series loss to Notre Dame in their ACC opener.

In the national rankings, Duke is receiving votes in the latest NCBWA poll.

LAST TIME OUT: TUESDAY DEFEAT
FSU fell to Florida 5-0 on Tuesday night in Jacksonville, Florida, at the MiLB home of the Triple-A Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. In the second of three games between the in-state rivals, the Seminoles were shut out for the first time this season. Florida State had four hits with two errors and seven left on base while UF had five hits, one error and stranded 10.

Junior left-handed starter Cooper Whited suffered his first loss of the year and is 1-1. He allowed one run on three hits with four strikeouts and no walks in 3.2 innings. On a cool evening with consistent wind and light rain, Florida's first run came in the second. Four more came in the seventh to round out the game's scoring.
