TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Seminoles.com) – Redshirt sophomore point guard Sayawni Lassiter of the Florida State Women’s Basketball team will miss the 2019-20 season due to a knee injury.

Lassiter sustained a season-ending right knee injury during off-season workouts in August. She also missed her freshman season due to a season-ending knee injury that occurred in Sept. 2017.

The third-year guard filled in nicely in her first playing season in 2018-19, averaging 13.0 minutes per game and shooting 80 percent (20-of-25) from the free throw line. Coming off the bench, Lassiter was given ball-handling duties many times and finished with a strong 1.4 assist/turnover ratio.
