Accolades Keep Pouring In For FSU’s Seminole Productions

The Aurora Awards announced today that Florida State Universities Seminole Productions has been awarded three Gold Awards for their exceptional work over the past year. The Aurora Awards is an international competition designed to recognize excellence in the film and video industries. Entries have come from across the US, and abroad including Canada, Hong Kong, Denmark, Mexico and others.

The Seminole Productions staff members receiving Aurora Gold awards are Jim Garbarino who received two awards, and Jerry Tootle, who received the third award. Tootle received a gold award for his work producing and directing the Environmental Results Program for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Garbarino received both his gold awards for his producing and production work on The Bobby Bowden TV Show including his use of graphics and design for the Bobby Bowden show open, and received the other award for his producing skills on the Bobby Bowden Show as a full sports program. Previous winners of this award include Disney I.D.E.A.S, The History Channel, A&E Network and Fox Sports Net. The Aurora statue itself was commissioned specifically for the competition by a nationally renowned sculptor. The statues are cast in the same foundry that creates the Emmy, Oscar and Clio statues.

With these awards, the staff of Seminole Productions continues an almost unheard of streak of national award recognitions with over 40 awards in the past few years. During that time, Tootle has been awarded eight total awards including two previous Aurora Gold Awards, while Garbarino has been awarded three previous Aurora Gold awards and has won an astonishing 27 total awards.

Established in 1987, Seminole Productions handles virtually every video production need for Florida State Athletics and teaches advanced courses in video production and performance to FSU Communication students. Under the direction of Mark Rodin and senior staff members Jim Garbarino, DD Garbarino, Jerry Tootle, Jim Shaw, Rob Levine and Jeff Levine, Seminole Productions produces the Bobby Bowden TV Show, the Seminole Basketball Report with Leonard Hamilton and the Mike Martin Show, as well as Seminole Sports Magazine and Seminole Uprising. Seminole Productions also produces all of the in-game entertainment needs for Seminole Vision, the in-game entertainment productions for FSU football, basketball and baseball. As a matter of fact, earlier this year in competition against universities across North America, Seminole Productions took home the Golden Matrix Award (GMA) for having the Best Overall Video Display for Universities. The Golden Matrix Award means that the content appearing on the Seminole Vision was judged to be the best in the nation for Universities. The Golden Matrix Awards are voted on by In-Game Entertainment and Video Display professionals across North America and includes league members from the NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, and Universities as well as representatives from Stadiums and Arenas.
