Women’s Tennis Heads To The San Diego State University Fall Tennis Classic

Tallahassee, Fla. – For the weekend (Sept. 29-Oct. 1), the Florida State women’s tennis team is competing at the San Diego State University Fall Tennis Classic. The classic features Florida State, San Diego State, Pepperdine, Arizona, Alabama, Denver and San Diego.

In single’s competition today, Friday, September 29, 2006, senior Nicola Slater (Ayr, Scotland) faces Arizona’s Camelia Todorova. Freshman Jessica Wente (Whitehouse, Texas) heads San Diego State’s Eliska Krausova. San Diego State’s Alesya Vidov vies sophomore Ania Rynarzewska (Inowroclaw, Poland). Freshmen Lauren Macfarlane (Ogden, Utah) is against Alabama’s Mari Muller. Sophomore Suzanna Mansour (Greenacres, Fla.) faces Denver’s Lorinda Boothman. Senior Miranda Foley (Cambridge, England) competes against San Diego State’s Ozge Atalay. San Diego’s Sophia Vogt battles junior Tapiwa Marobela (Gaborone, Botswana).

In double’s action, Foley and Wente team up against Denver’s Mechem and Boothman. Marobela will pair with San Diego State’s Hagiwara against Alabama’s Svensson and Briceno.

The Seminoles will take the courts today at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Check back for results.
