TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — After an extended nine-day break, the Seminole softball team will be back in action on February 26 as No. 8 Florida State (7-4) hosts RV UCF (13-2) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Seminole Softball Complex.

It will be FSU’s eighth game through the first 12 games of the 2020 season against a team that is either ranked or receiving votes in the USA Softball poll.

“Excited to get back on the field for a game after a week full of practices,” said FSU head coach Lonni Alameda. “Always love the competitive games against UCF, as year in and year out we have quality games against them. They’ve had an outstanding start to the season and it will be great for us to see how we stack up against them.”

Florida State leads the all-time series against UCF, 19-5, and has won each of the last nine games in the matchup, dating back to 2012. The Noles are 9-2 against the Knights in Tallahassee, last falling to UCF at the Seminole Softball Complex in a 1-0 loss in 12 innings on March 28, 2007.

It will be a reunion on Wednesday as UCF assistant coach Kendra Lynch was Florida State’s volunteer assistant coach during the 2018 season as the Seminoles won their first NCAA National Championship. Brandi Stuart, former FSU softball player and two-time NFCA All-American, is the UCF Executive Associate Athletic Director and also serves as the department’s Senior Woman Administrator and Deputy Title IX Coordinator.

Wednesday’s game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and links for the broadcast, tickets and live stats are available on the softball schedule page of Seminoles.com.
