TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — For the second straight time, Sydney Sherrill has been named the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

It is the third time in the last four award cycles that a Seminole has earned ACC Defensive Player of the year honors as Jessie Warren won the award in 2017 and Sydney Sherrill won the award for the first time in 2019.

Sherrill patrolled the hot corner all season long earning a .977 fielding percentage with just two errors in 32 ACC games. She added a .345 batting average to her defensive performance as she recorded 30 hits, 10 doubles, and 17 RBI against ACC competition.

She is a part of a Seminole defense that leads the league in fielding percentage (.975) and double plays (25), has the fewest errors (33) and ranks second in ERA (1.70).

The rest of the All-ACC team is set to be announced today at 3 pm.
