TALLAHASSEE - Florida State men's tennis concludes the fall season with several players ranked in the final ITA rankings for the fall season.
No. 97 Jamie Connel is the highest-ranked Seminole in the final ITA rankings of the fall season, moving up five spots from No. 102 to No. 97. This is Connel's highest ITA ranking after earning eight ITA wins during the fall and winning the Battle At The Bay tournament.
"I think that Jamie had a really good fall and am glad that he is nationally ranked. His best tournament was M15 Tallahassee and he also got to the finals of summer circuit, winning a lot of matches and accumulating ATP points," head coach Dwayne Hultquist said.
The Seminoles also got into the ITA doubles rankings at No. 52 with the duo of Youcef Rihane and Loris Pourroy's fall results earning them a spot. The pair earned an 8-7(3) victory over USC's Wotjek Marek and Samuel Rubell at the Longhorn Invitational alongside another impressive win over Florida's Nate Bonetto and Jeremy Jin at the ITA Southeast Regional.
"Youcef got a top victory against No. 30 Olle Wallin at the ITA All-American Championships and has shown good progress in his game," Hultquist said. "Loris is playing some of his best tennis right now and I am looking forward to seeing all these guys being leaders on the team and having a good year when we begin play in the spring."
The Seminoles have wrapped up their fall schedule and will return to action in the first matchup of the spring.
