Soccer Posts an ACC-Leading Seven Athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Amidst one of the best seasons in Florida State women's soccer history, the Noles were just as successful in the classroom this season as an ACC-leading seven athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon. Lauren Flynn, Heather Gilchrist, Leilanni Nesbeth, Sophia Nguyen, Beata Olsson, Cristina Roque and Kaitlyn Zipay were all named to the team. To make the CSC Academic All-District Team, athletes must have participated in 90% of the teams' games or started in 66% of the games while maintaining a 3.50 GPA or higher.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All- America® honorees will be announced in early December.
All seven athletes achieved a GPA of 3.60 or higher while four athletes achieved at least a 3.9 GPA. These seven athletes have 110 combined starts this season and helped FSU to an ACC Regular Season and Tournament Championship.
FSU will be back in action on Friday night in the NCAA Quarterfinals against Pitt. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN+.
